I’m Kelly Smith
I am a UX designer with over 20 years experience in marketing strategy, life and executive coaching, website design, public speaking, visual art and filmmaking, and light graphic design.
My greatest strength is communication. I have a talent for problem-solving, big-picture thinking, and attention to details.
I am passionate about helping people express their ideas and meet their needs.
Most importantly, I value empathy, efficiency, integrity, and curiosity.
Highlights
Education: BA in biological anthropology from Harvard University (cum laude). MS in biology from Tufts Graduate School of Arts and Science. MA in communication from Johns Hopkins University. Yes, my anthropology and biology degrees help me as a designer as I focused on how human evolution and the human body inform human behavior. Nature often beats out nurture!

Randomness: I have been a co-host at the Geek Girl Soup podcast since 2011 — before podcasts were cool! My artwork and film work have appeared in solo shows and numerous group shows. I am a co-producer of the BATFA Award-winning film Control (2007) and the assistant editor on the feature documentary Introducing Brian Broome. My own short film Dotted Lines appeared in the juried shorts section of the Three Rivers Film Festival in 2003. I used to have 5 cats. I now have one super-sweet black cat named Archimedes.
